At the same time, education has to be made available to children who are unable to study due to poverty.
According to local media reports, the list of beneficiaries has been displayed in all rural schools in the state under the scheme. So far 43 lakh mothers have been identified as beneficiaries. Beneficiaries have been selected on the basis of white ration card, Aadhaar card and bank account. A budget of Rs 6,400 crore has been approved for ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme. This is the first of its kind scheme to be implemented in any state of the country.

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh had said about the scheme, “Beneficiaries have been selected with transparency under the Amma Vodi scheme. It has also been reported in the reports that, for some reason, if the names of the beneficiaries are not in the Amma Vodi list, they can apply again to the Village Secretariat. The list of the beneficiaries of the Amma Vodi scheme so far will be displayed in the Village Secretariat on Sunday.
Objections and new names in the list were scheduled to be accepted by 2 January. After which the final list was to be displayed on 9 January and on the same day 15 thousand rupees were deposited in the account of eligible mothers.
State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that, ‘The state government has increased the pace of development in the education sector by launching the’ Jagannanna Amma Vodi ‘scheme. This is an ideal plan to be written on the pages of history. About 43 lakh children will get benefit through the scheme. No such scheme has been introduced in any other state of the country. The ideal of this scheme should be taken by other states.

The infrastructure of educational institutions will be improved
Apart from this, Reddy said that he will work to improve the infrastructure of government educational institutions. A budget of Rs 14,000 crore has been set for this. The state’s 45,000 government schools, 471 junior colleges, 148 degree colleges and hostels will be modernized in a phased manner. Reddy said that this year the medium of instruction in the state government schools from class 1 to class 6 will be English and accordingly it will be extended to the board of class 10 in 4 years annually.
Mid day meal scheme will also be improved
Reddy also told that his government is spending Rs 360 crore to improve the mid-day meal scheme in the government schools of the state. According to them, this will improve the quality of the mid-day meal.
Chief Minister Reddy announced reimbursement of fees for all the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Economically Backward Classes, Kapu, Disabled, Minority and Economically Poor students in the state. It will be for the students studying Graduate, Postgraduate, Polytechnic and Engineering in the state.
Jaganna Vidya Kanuka Yojana launched in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the Jaganna Vidya Kanuka Yojana. The state government has allocated Rs 650 crore for the scheme. Under this scheme, the state government will provide school kits to 43.32 lakh government school students.

Amma Vodi Scheme
In January 2020, Andhra Pradesh Amma Vodi Yojana was launched by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
