The Imran Khan government’s problems increased on Sunday, when all opposition parties held a joint rally. This led to the Tilamilai Imran Khan government arresting Muhammad Safdar, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the husband of Maryam, by breaking the lock of the room from the hotel in Karachi. Initially it seemed that the Sindh police had done this work, but later when the handiwork of the army was exposed, the Sindh police broke out.

The arrest of Safdar and the registration of FIR against him sparked outrage in Sindh’s police department. Two Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs), seven Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and six senior superintendents have applied for leave to protest against the incident.
He handed over the same request for his leave to the Inspector General of Sindh, Mushtaq Mahar. These officials say that due to the pressure generated by Safdar’s arrest, his morale has fallen and it has become difficult for him to perform his duty.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice-president Maryam Nawaz has alleged that Sindh’s Inspector General of Police was forcibly taken to the Sector Commander’s office and asked to sign the arrest order. He claimed that when the Inspector General expressed his reluctance, he was told that Ranger would arrest Safdar. However, they were asked to arrest the police after forcibly signing them.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has ordered a high-level inquiry into Safdar’s arrest. Safdar was arrested from his hotel room in Karachi on Monday. A statement issued by the army said that the army chief has asked the Karachi corps commander to immediately investigate the incident and submit the report as soon as possible.

The statement, however, did not explain which incident he asked to be investigated. But, earlier Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had demanded the administration to investigate the incidents related to Safdar’s arrest.
How difficult is Imran Khan in FATF
Imran Khan is also hanging on the sword of action of FATF for not taking action on terrorism and terror funding. The fate of Pakistan will be decided in the meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) which started on Wednesday. Pakistan is already in the gray list. If the blat is listed, it will not get financial help from anywhere. It is feared that along with this, Imran Khan will be overthrown.
