What is a transverse wave?

When the direction of vibrating particles of a medium is perpendicular to the direction of wave transmission. So the wave produced in the medium is called transverse wave.

Who is the longitudinal wave?

When the direction of vibrating in particles of a medium is parallel to the direction of wave transmission. So the wave produced in the medium is called longitudinal wave.

Longitudinal waves move in the medium with the help of compression and sparse. The places where the particles of the medium are near. Those places are called compression. Transverse wave :-

Longitudinal Wave: –

Displacement of particles is only in the direction of transmission of the wave.
In this compression and compression are seen alternately moving forward.
These solid liquids and gases can all flow from them.
The displacement time curve in longitudinal waves only represents the position of the particles of the medium at different points in a given time.
