The Indian government has strongly objected to Pakistan’s move in which the management of Pakistan Kartarpur Gurdwara was taken away from the Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and handed over to the ETPB, an organization under the control of the intelligence agency ISI.
The Indian Foreign Ministry has strongly objected to this move of Pakistan, saying that the mask has come out from the face of Pakistan through which it talks about protecting the rights of minorities. The Foreign Ministry has said that Pakistan should change its decision immediately.
Pakistan has started a new move regarding Kartarpur Gurdwara. Actually, Pakistan has taken over the maintenance of Kartarpur Gurdwara from Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and handed over a new institute to ETPB i.e. Evacuee Trust Property Board. The project management unit of this board will maintain the gurdwara.
However, the concern is that there is not a single Sikh member in the Project Management Unit. It has a total of nine members and all nine members are non-Sikhs. Not only this, the ETPB to which the Project Management Unit is attached, the ETPB is fully controlled by the ISI, that is, the maintenance of the Kartarpur Gurdwara will now be monitored by the ISI and work will be done under its supervision.
As per the decision of the government of Pakistan, the project management unit that maintains the gurdwara will prepare a business plan and work accordingly. It is clear that the Imran Khan government of Pakistan is trying to convert the site of faith into a commercial site so that they can earn money from it.
