Tarkishore Prasad hails from the Vaishya community and has been elected MLA for the fourth time. Prasad has held various responsibilities in the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
In his election affidavit he has described his profession as agriculture and his education has been told as intermediate pass. At the same time, Renu Devi belongs to Nonia community under the Backward Classes and has been elected MLA from Betia seat four times.
